Oven Not Heating? (Quick Testing Guide) | Repair & Replace
Oven not heating but stove works? In this episode of Repair & Replace, Vance shows how to troubleshoot an electric oven that is not heating up. If both heating elements are not working on the bake and broil settings then it's likely a faulty thermal fuse, a defective temperature sensor or an issue with the control board. This video is a focused guide showing how to test each component with a multimeter.

    Excellent ! I regret I did not see this video 2 years ago when I was told during my HAVC inspection that my capacitor needed to be replaced and I had to pay $228 for this operation. A few days ago, during my annual inspection, the technician told me that the capacitor needed to be replaced again ! the price tag was now $479 !! Holly cow! When i asked him the reason the price went from $228 to $479, he just told me that the prices of capacitors have been going through the roof. My guts were telling me it was fishy. Then, I found this video. I bought a multimeter online and I checked the capacitor, and yes, it was weak (4.6 uf instead of 6 uf). So, I did some research and found an online store that sell the exact same capacitors. The price shocked me: only $1.98 the capacitor ! I ordered it and replaced the weak capacitor with the new one by myself, after finding a video explaining how to do it, and it works perfectly! So, I just saved $477. Incredible !!!

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 3 дня назад

      Thanks for watching. Dust mopping (with a treated mop) and vacuuming together will yield the best results. Every case and facility is different and the time required to clean, and the amount of soil are both a factor in how you structure your cleaning schedule. So it if makes sense for your case you might choose to include periodic vacuuming in addition to your regular cleaning.

    does the fan have to blow on the compressor or suck the hot air around it ?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 3 дня назад

      Thanks for watching. Since the condenser coils are hotter, the condenser fan has to pull air over the compressor (which will be fresh air from outside the refrigerator) to push over the condenser coils. If the reverse was true, then the condenser fan would be pushing hot air over a warm compressor, which would not help it stay cool.

      Thanks for watching. Other than listening and seeing other cues (like water draining slowly, or a smell of sewage) To determine if the vent stack is blocked and where the blockage is, one will need to access the vent stack from above and use a snake or scope to inspect it. This is best handled by professionals.

    • @AmreSupply

      Thanks for watching. If the pilot stays lit, then that shows that the thermocouple produces enough voltage. In this cases it's likely a faulty control valve, this can't easily be tested though but it would explain the intermittent issues that you're having.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 8 дней назад

      Thanks for watching. Normally it takes a deep freeze 24 hours to get down to temperature the first time it is turned on? If the fan is running but is making some noise then it can be a sign that the bearings are starting to fail. As well if it is vibrational noise, tightening the mounting screws can help. It's worth trying to clean the condenser coils to ensure that there is a good transfer of heat. As well make sure that there is enough space behind the freezer for air to move freely.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 9 дней назад

      Thanks for watching, we're glad you found it helpful. The defrost thermostat is meant to protect the heater from getting too hot. It will disconnect the circuit once it warms up. Removing the defrost thermostat and leaving the wires disconnected will prevent the defrost heater from working. Bypassing the defrost thermostat will mean that it will not shut off the defrost heater at the rated temperature. This is not recommended as it is unsafe.

    • @AmreSupply

      Thanks for watching. The sump basin needs to be at the lowest part of the basement as that is where the water collects. The sump is located in the sump basin so it will push the water up through the discharge pipe. You cannot place the pump higher and use suction to move the water up the pipe as there are limits how far water can move via suction.

    Cannot recommend this video. Doesn't answer the very basic question of when I'm supposed to hear beeping from the multimeter and when I'm not supposed to hear beeping, when doing a continuity test.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 9 дней назад

      Thanks for watching. Not all multimeters will have the resistance with tone setting, (the audible beep) which will beep anytime there is continuity. We showed how to test continuity with resistance as this covers a wider range of scenarios. If the component you test has a resistance of 0 Ohms or above then it will beep (while on that setting). This is continuity. There is a continuous electrical path. If the component has no resistance, a blank display or - - - - - - or a "OL" reading, then it has no continuity. In this case there is no beep. This is explained a bit more in the multimeter basics video: ruclips.net/video/r_migcta_Is/видео.html Hope this helps.

      Thanks for watching. The terminals on the light socket in this video have different colors and this a byproduct of how lamp sockets are wired in other applications. Brass is hot and the silver colored terminal is neutral. In this case the colors shouldn't matter as there is no polarity in the light bulb itself in the oven. As for replacing the terminals itself, it's always best to replace like for like, to ensure a proper fit and connection. If the new terminal connects securely, then it should be good to go.

    Hey AMRE Supply! Love your videos! I'm having a problem with my Zurn Aquaflush WS1. Where the inlet valve meets the lower chamber, it leaks ever so slightly, a drop or two. I was wondering if this was a connection issue, and its as simple as adding plumbing tape and tightening it better? Or if it's some internal/housing issues that I would potentially need to replace?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 13 дней назад

      Thanks for watching we're glad you're finding the videos helpful! For leaks at any of these connections you can remove the valve body and check for any buildup of calcium and give it a good clean. If the connection has a gasket or O-ring then often it's good to install a new O-ring. Tighten the connections and check for leaks. Also it's worth noting that teflon tape is only for NPT connections that do not have an O-ring or gasket.
